I have merged "Dave McClure - Blog" with "Dave McClure - Poems" and renamed the single result "Agnes's Surprise". This is part of the occasional but ongoing process of rationalising my web presence. "Agnes has a Surprise Party", a monologue by William McCulloch, was one of our most played 78s back in Montgomerie Terrace. I can't remember it all, but it began, "The greatest surprise of the nicht was when Agnes's faither turned up sober. Oh! He looked so different, his ain dug tried to bite him. Even his wife didna ken him until he spoke, and then she collapsed intae a state of sheer exhaustation". My own Agnes poems were named after McCulloch's Agnes.
And this blog is named after both.
